About Us
Karen Colbert, Principal Data Scientist of Atlas Executive Consulting LLC, is a practicing Data Scientist, Data & Software Carpentries Instructor Trainer, Achieving the Dream Teaching and Learning Coach, and a Tribal College Faculty.
Colbert has more than a decade of experience Bridging STEM Equity Barriers for BIPOC in the Tribal College Community. Through her work and partnerships with organizations such as the American Indian College Fund, Data Carpentries, and Carnegie Math Pathways, Colbert has acted as an agent of change to the status quo for sustainable STEM initiatives in the Tribal College Community.
Her work in decolonizing the teaching practices in the General Education Department and Indigenizing math curriculum at Keweenaw Bay Ojibwa Community College, has been fundamental in increasing passing and persistence rates in math courses and increasing computational literacy for tribal college graduates.
